Orange County Apparel

Orange County is thirty-four cities that share a name, a coastline and a long argument about whether they have anything else in common.

This collection is our California bear flag design, made for Orange County, on shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, hooded tees, crop tops, crop sweatshirts, hats, mugs, travel mugs, tumblers, pint glasses, can glasses, wine glasses, blankets, totes, stickers and wall flags.

The version outsiders carry around — from television, mostly — is a few coastal blocks standing in for two hundred miles of actual county. The real thing runs from the surf towns through Little Saigon and Santa Ana out to the canyons and the ranchland behind them, and it is far more mixed, more working, and more interesting than the postcard.

The orange groves the name came from are almost entirely gone. The name stayed, the way names do.
