Inglewood has changed faster in the last decade than almost any city in California, and it did it without moving an inch.

The Forum has been here since 1967 and outlived two of its own tenants. Then came the stadium, and the arena, and a whole district built on what used to be Hollywood Park racetrack. Planes come in low over the city all day because LAX is right there. Somewhere under all of it is the Inglewood that existed before — Market Street, Centinela, Morningside Park, a historically African-American city with deep roots that long predate anyone's redevelopment plans.

Both things are the city now. This is for people who were here for the first one.
