Collection: Compton Apparel

Compton is one of the oldest cities in Los Angeles County — incorporated in 1888, decades before most of what surrounds it.

This collection is our California bear flag design, made for Compton, on shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, hooded tees, crop tops, hats, beanies, mugs, travel mugs, tumblers, pint glasses, can glasses, blankets, totes and stickers.

The city gets flattened into a soundtrack by people who've never driven through it. The actual place is more interesting. Richland Farms is still zoned for livestock, which is why there are horses in Compton and have been for over a century — a working agricultural district inside one of the densest parts of Southern California. It was a landing place for African-American families building middle-class lives in the 1950s and 60s, and it's a majority-Latino city now, both of those true at once.

Compton Creek runs through it. The Blue Line runs through it. The pride here is the earned kind.
