The Bay Area is nine counties that agree on almost nothing except that they're the Bay Area, and that people from outside it use the word wrong.

The East Bay, the Peninsula, the South Bay, the North Bay and the city itself are genuinely different places with different weather, different accents and long-running opinions about each other.
